Not as easy to pop out that rear window as I thought

Sorry Dylan, just lost alot of sticker real estate space

Whoa, That sucks.

What happened there?

By the way...you already have fans. After talking to tons of folks this weekend at URE,
You would be surprised to hear the comments about ''that guy that won a jeep to race is gonna be the one to watch'' Then I told them''Yeah, I know that guy, I'm the guy that gave away the jeep'' I dont think they even believed me, but it was cool anyway.

I just cut the grommit on mine and it came right out.

Fri evening I needed to get some 12' 2x6s. It was raining, so I dodn't really want to take the 4Runner (which is semi-topless). Figured water on the inside was nothing new to this beast, so I'd pop out the rear window and use it. A long time ago I had a 90, I could just pop the window out of the rubber gasket.
Started prying in the upper corner, got the screwdriver in and almost had the whole croner out when "Crack" all at once. was pretty cool listening to it though. Even cooler to see it all sit and hold itself together like that.
So after waiting/contemplating a while, I moved it into the gragae, put a tarp in the back, pushed it a ll in. What a mess! Thank god for the Shop Vac.

Yeah, especially with the lock spline still in place...

Not sure what you mean?

lock spline

I'm pretty sure it's the chrome trim piece that's pressed into the rubber around the window.

What is ironic about that is I had a back glass fall out of my cherokee going down the road. Funniest thing I have ever seen. I hit a bump and the window falls out. I stop pick up the window and seal of the ground throw it in the back of the xj and drive off. Put it back in after I got home never to have a problem again.

For some more fun, go slam one of the front doors (with the others closed) and watch the back window. :flipoff2:

a buddies xj rear glass fell out on the trail once. they just picked it back up and popped it back in once they got home.

Actually, that's what I did - once I got the tarp set up, I figured, what the hell, and opened, slammed the front door. A big hole (about 8" dia) right in the middle fell out, but the rest stayed in.
Even once I started pushing it out, I was really surprised at how well it held together, took a lot of work to get it all knocked out.

That's the thing, in my old '90, I was moving one day, had a desk in the back, Closed the hatch.. .and the legs were sticking up in the way... the glass just popped right out. After that, I'd pop it in/out all thetime.
