Optima battery

I bought mine at Advance Auto. I also spoke to the manager when I went to get them.
Chip: hey, I buy thousands of dollars worth of parts in here, what kinda deal can you make me in Two Red top Optimas?
Manager:How's 20% sound?
Chip:Ring 'em up!

Not saying it'll work for you, but worth a shot.

I got a similar deal from Advance. They have 'em in stock pretty much all the time.

sorry for my ignorance, but im a cheap guy, thats why i wheel samurais, but what is so much better about optima's? if im gonna put that much money into a battery it better be pretty damn nice

Only thing is, I almost deal exclusively with Flowers Co. (NAPA). I've cussed the personnel out twice last year at the local Advance Auto for their dumba$$ comments. Once I asked for a Ford solenoid for my Chebbie. I use a remote solenoid I made on all three of my trucks. They tried to tell me it was the wrong type, then finally got them to frigging understand, I think, and then they wanted to know what year and model of Ford solenoid ...................I blew up and left. Walked into the Flowers Co. just up the street from me, asked for a Ford solenoid, he laid one on the counter, I paid for it and was on my way!!!
Second time, I wanted some spark plug wires for a Chevy 350. Again stupid crap questions...................what year.....'73, but it has HEI........they didn't have HEI that year........no $hit, I have a billet MSD dist.....what model.........truck........what kinda truck....IT DON'T MATTER LADY.........I just want some to get by till I can afford another set of MSD wires.........^&#$*@&&*$ you and your crap. Walked in Flowers and payed a lot more but i told 'em I needed HEI wires for a 350 Chevy and he laid 'em on the counter................Needless to say, I try to buy parts and stuff at NAPA and fluids fuses and stuff I can serve myself at Advance and Auto Zone! Either that or Summit or Jegs and JC Whitney!

My first Optima lasted a little over 4 years (sitting most of each 4 winters between cranking) from Costco... replaced it with an Exide Spiral from Sams. AFAICT, both good batteries...

Could always get it from Battery Mart and have it shipped. They're in Winchester. IME, that's next-day ground shipping from here.

They don't have the group 31 listed, but you can opt for an Odyssey instead.

Jell cell, no leaks. Mount anywhere, in any position. Mulitiple mounting places for starter, winch and so on. Although the side mount is not recomended for winches. 7 year warranty, pro-rated of course.

I understand your pain there. I am lucky here in Morganton. We have a decent Advance with a couple of folks in there that have been there a while, and understands that my stuff ain't like it come from the factory. I wait on one of them usually. A helpful hint: answers their questions with what will get your part, not what it's going on. Most of them only know how to access a part Through the putor.
Another hint: I am sure you have a chiltons or Haynes book. Keep receipts and part numbers for the things you you buy in it. Sure helps to go in there and just give them a part number.

I will give another plug for my favorite person at our Advance. He name is Samantha, Sam for short. She has gone the extra mile for me several times. She is a definite asset to her employer.

Just got back from Sam's. Looks like that might be my choice!
Its only $10 less than an Optima without the warranty.

I feel you on Advance. I have gotten mad in there before too. I just answer what needs to be answered to get the part I need.

The Exide battery like the Optima battery has a 36 month warranty and a 9 year pro rated warranty. Not sure what Optima has but this one sounds OK..........anyway I like the blue top marine battery.....might get it. The Flowers Co. NAPA on Sandy Ridge Rd. I deal with are worth a few extra bucks. I go in and ask for a water pump for a '73 K-5 and he'll walk in the back and bring one out, same with starters and stuff too. 99% of the time he doesn't even have to look up the part number. I do need to try to deal with their idiocy at Auto Zone and Advance better. I did stay kool last year when I wanted 350C trans filter and gasket, I had about 8 quarts of fluid and he lectured me not to put all that in the tranny, I calmly said I know better, he then told me it only holds (I think he said) 5 quarts (whatever the book says) and I preceded to correct him that I have an aux cooler in addition to the stock radiator cooler and it has a deep pan, so I use the dipstick.......................dipstick! :p

Hey, ya takin' that goodlooking uglyjeep to DPG?
Oh, is yer Church having a fund raiser this year Chris?

If you guys are having problems getting parts at the asshat places give Auto Supply on Tate Blvd right across from Custom Auto Body. If you know where Fastenal is look right across teh street.
My old man retired and got bored so he decided to start delivering auto parts for them to keep him busy. I NEVER have any issues getting stuff from them. Ask for Brent and tell him Jeff Franklin (Jim's son) told you to come by.
The work WITH you getting a part but it helps if you know exactly what it came out of. They know we do weird shit with parts.
Only GM batts, already asked:D
