and man is my rear sore. That converter studder I was having finally reared its ugly head in daily driving and made it clear it was the converter and time to replace it, several shops told me to get the solinods in soon or I'd damage the converter, guess I waited to long:flipoff2:. So I ordered a dunrite converter and valve body matched for my engine setup and payload I intend to pull (15000 or so) and sent the trans go kit back.
I figured while I was investing in my truck the factory fuel system is still intact and since the high pressure pump is the next expensive thing, so I sprung for the FASS fuel system (let the flaming begin cause I sore I'd never get pay for a FASS system) to try and not have to buy a hy pressure pump when the factory lift pump lays down. Anyone installed any of these parts? What kind of a nightmare have I gotten myself into
Looking forward to the new setup though, by all accounts it should be a hell of a truck once I get injectors and a turbo :huggy:

What year is it? I just paid around 1800 for a dtt vb and tc and will be installing them myself within the next couple weeks. I'll let you know... I have installed a fass a couple years ago and relocated the lift pump on mine though, it's pretty simple.

It's an 02, not counting cores the TC and VB where 1550 with a lifetime warrenty built to my eng and load specs. The fass kit I ordered replaces the factory lift pump and filter system, did yours, I wonder if that is why your truck doesn't smoke, they claim a smoke reduction and the dealer told me it would cut the smoke in half. He has fat shaft turbos on special this month by the way for 1400 I think $75 off.

I can't imagine why better fuel pressure would make it smoke less.. ???

Yeah I was kinda like "huh"? But they claim it is from the constant pressure that is void of almost all airation prior to the high pressure pump..... whatever, I'm not worried about smoke, just don't want to lose pressure or starve the hypressure pump, plus it will feed the motor/chip/and/turbo/injectors if I go that route down the road.
How long did it take to put the system in your truck Braxton?

I put the FASS 150/150 on my truck. I'm very pleased with it so far. The only thing I dont like about it is when the truck is cold, u have to bump the starter to get the pump to priome the system. From what I hear, most do that. I get a constant 15 psi at idle and have never dropped below 11-12 even on hard throttle. Install in fairly simple. I have a bigger draw straw to go in the tank to help the fuel flow out, but I didnt have time to drop the tank at the time of the FASS install so that still needs to be done. Oh, and the pump is loud, lol. Good luck with the install.

The fass is (was) on my roommates 02. He drives a new dmax now though, so no word on overall longevity. It didn't have any priming problems, but was definately loud...not that it matters when the truck is running. I guess it took about two hours to install?--this was a few years ago. Also installed an hx40 and edge comp. It was a 6spd and smoked like a train, but was nowhere near as quick as mine with an auto. On my truck, I went with this vulcan relocation kit http://www.genosgarage.com/prodinfo.asp?number=VULCAN_VPPS9802_KIT since I have two new lift pumps. 15-16psi at idle and ~9-10 when getting on it hard. It was about an hour install.
I'm still in san diego now, but when I get back I'll be installing those trans parts and injectors. You're welcome to come by and watch (or help :flipoff2:) if you want. Or we can just have a meth-induced wrenchfest at your place.

Yeah your from NC what with the meth-induced wrenchfest, ahh to live in the meth producing capital of the country... Anyways when you coming back, my parts should be in by the end of next week and installed next weekend providing there is a open lift at work. I'm going to install the quadzilla moniter unit next weekend to so I can watch pyro temps and actual fuel pressure. The kit you got looks like the BD diesel kit minus the pump. I pondered on that but since I haven't been billed for the FASS system I may go with the BD diesel kit since it is like 350 dollars less and add a pump down the road. But your alterantive is pretty good to since my lift pump is still working good.

Fass should be fairly simple to install. It is very similar to my airdog and it was a breeze just took time to run all hoses up out of harms way.

If you don't want to mess with the transmission part of the swap and you want to come to wilmington for the weekend I can install it all

We do lots of performance transmission upgrades and rebuilds
