Looking for a local place (Charlotte area) that sells the "Safety Orange" enamel spray paint (OSHA Cert). I know Krylon and Rustoleum both make the color, but I can't seem to find if any place like Homedepot, Lowes, etc carries them. All the places online that sell the paint want you buy 6 cans, and pay some crazy shipping price. Ebay is worse, a can is $5 and shipping is $8.

I know wally world has regular orange paint for $1 a pop, but if I am going to have to use 5 cans of paint in the long term putting on extra coats/re-painting etc I might as well just buy the $5 can of "Safety Orange" and be done with it one time around.

Autozone or Oreillys should have it

Talk to tlinker48 on here. He runs O'reillys in Kannapolis and might be able to get you a little better price for large quantities.

I read the title as "OSHA Pray Pants"...

My bad on the typo with Pray instead of Spray. Was trying to get it posted before work and missed that.

I will take all the advice given and see what I come up with. I have to make a run to Monroe Bobcat and a couple other places anyway tomorrow.

Hey you just need one can? What are you painting?

Picking up a pair of the 30"x30" metal construction signs used off ebay. They will need paint, and lettering seeing they are in rough shape and will say "LEFT LANE CLOSED" or similar which doesn't quite work on the trails. So I am looking at a can of Safety Orange and a can of Black. I think the letters are actually 3M but paint will have to do. They will be used on the trails and forest service roads for work/clean up during the volunteer days for safety/awareness. People weren't too interested in this project over in the "Friends of Uwharrie" section so I am attempting to tackle it.

Contact your industrial supply house, they will have it cheap. I get any osha color for $3 here at Burke Industrial Supply here in town. Most of the Jeep parts are Osha Black :D

Here ya go

Using that link I found a place locally that has them for $6.80 a pop. Which with tax is a lot better than almost $20 a can shipped from online places. The signs are going to be $46, and the 4' U channel metal posts will be another $46. That doesn't leave a lot of extra $$$ to be spending $20 a can on paint.

Hmm... didn't take that as feedback?

So you spent a third of the cost of a skidloader rental on some used road signs that say "LEFT LANE CLOSED"?

1.)I haven't purchased the signs yet. I am pricing it out, and finding out if I can get all the materials needed. Which is apart of this thread. The ebay listing has 20 days left on it, plenty of time for me to make a decision.

2.)They will say "Detour Ahead" or "Left Lane Closed Ahead" or anything similar, that was what I said here:

and will say "LEFT LANE CLOSED" or similar

Bottom line is it doesn't matter what they say because they are going to be painted over. That was the point of this thread, to locate paint to re-paint the signs with.

3.)$125 is 1/3 of the cost of a skid steer loader rental. The cost of the signs shipped is $46 dollars. The signs retail new for over $100 a piece, so I think 2 signs shipped for $46 is a steal. The total cost hasn't been determined yet. I am going to check locally on the metal U channel posts for a better price, I know hardware stores locally carry them.

4.)None of the donated money is going to this project. Hence why I said I am tackling the project, so its my money. And I can spend my money how ever I see fit.

Ive got a large street sign, says road closed, it is reflective. Its probably... 4x3... There are no markings on it to tell me where it came from, could be stolen for all I know but police have seen it and not said a word. My brother gave it to me as a gift a few years ago. Looks great above my bar but since Im moving soon I won't need it. If your ever in the area your welcome to it, I will be taking it off the wall here in the next week sometime or if your around sooner, whenever.
