I am still in the build up stages of my yj . It has been under construction for quite a while so I havnt done a build up because I never know when I will get it done. I have been toying around with doing body panels or just a leg bar . What do you think?
with out panels.

If i did the panels I was planning on going back and tieing them into the rear shock hhops and enclosing bottom of the back side of the cab so I have some protection from rocks being slung up by the rear tires.

I like this idea.. go all the way with the panels

I like the skins myself. I can tell ya from experience that a leg bar will come in handy! BTW, thats an incredible looking rig. Do you have a build thread somewhere?

I am leaning towoads the skins myself. I dont have a build thread because it has taken so long to get to this point. I dont get much time to work on it and figured a build thread would be useless.

Go for the panels and the thread if you got time. Panels for all the above reasons and the thread because it doesn't matter how long it takes. The intro-net doesn't give :poop: and its not like you have to meet a deadline. Looks good by the way, keep a pic up every week, month or two I'd personally love to see the fab.

Go with the Flow...of those Cool :huggy: lookin Panels!!

Another vote for panels. Rig is looking awesome!

Take this guys word for it. As far as long term projects go.

I would probably build the "panel" around a tube door, so that you can get in and out much easier.

This is coming from someone feeling their age... not to mention muddy boots on the trail make for either muddy seats if you step on em, or slipping off the rig altogether! So the "easier" it is to get in with super muddy boots, the better imho.

Outside of that... I would panel it to keep out 'some' of the rocks, mud, leaves, water splashing up on you, etc...

I will try and find some of the pics I have from the build. Most of the work was done at a friend of mines shop ( tangent Desighns)I drove up to Johnson city every weekend and we would work on it there so I really did remeber to bring my camera every weekend but I think I got some pics of us building the cage.
