I know the old ford axles were D44 HP drivers drop, Did any trucks ever come with a pasg. drop D44 HP? Is it a ton of work to cut down a drivers drop and make it into a pasg. drop?

The tubes could be swapped side to side on a ford axle, has been done I'm pretty sure, or get new tubes, but the cheap way would be swapping sides.

To answer his direct question, No, I don't think there ever was a passenger drop HP 44.

I might be interested if there was, but as far as I know, there isn't

Thanks for all the responses. I would really love a HP over the low pinion pasg drop chevys. Guess I need to find out whether it would be easier/cheaper; retubing a Ford HP D44 making it pasg. drop or possibly using a 4cyl tacoma t-case to make the truck drivers drop.

Nathan, what are you working on now?
