Pics of the 2nd rebuild getting started

Something about that cage kit looks familiar...

What springs are you going to use on the 60's?

Your from hky? Maybe I could come by one day and lend a wrenching hand...I'm pretty useless but bullshit pretty well.

Golf course tech? What course?

nice clean rig.. are you looking for input on the cage, or just showing it?

I would like to have some input on the cage, I am not finished with it yet, I got my axles and the cage got put on the backburner

this is how it went together, the kit was not made for a CJ, so I made it work, It is 1.75, .120 wall DOM, and it was short, I sleeved two pieces of DOM together with some 1 3/8" .120 wall tubing, I also drilled some holes and did some plug welds

I want to add to it a little, but not too much, I have a piece to connect the front hoop under the windshield, what else would you do?

Some kind of cross bracing would be the best thing I could think of adding to that, to prevent it shifting on side impact.

is it at full droop? if so put a jack under the axle and put some pressure on it so it is more at ride height.

A CV won't help with him maxing out the angle on that joint though...

You'll want to run a center limit strap so you don't go beyond the u-joint's working angle once you hang another 250 pounds of wheel & tire on it

But if it's gonna be a street driven rig, scarface is right, you'll want a CV, and make sure you have enough angle in it.

Put the weight of the jeep on it and aim the pinion directly at the T-case output.
Then get a CV rear shaft. If you want to use that waggy shaft, look into the conversion joint and it should be fine.

Looks good man. What size shoes are you going to run? 42's....

It all looks really good, huge improvement for sure.
Those front spring hangers look out of place though..
Using an arc welder or 110v fcaw...? As 1stgen said, I'm nearby...if you need help just ask. I've got some tools as well...mig, plasma, press, kegerator, etc.
Keep the progress pics coming.

Hobart 220 stick welder

yeah the front spring hangers stick out a little, but they are out of the way

My dad is in the process of fabbing some d-60 hy-steer mounts, his own design, I will show some pics when those get done

I still have some work left to be done for sure, but it's getting there
