pitman arm ?

Quick question about a pitman arm on a XJ. Is there supposed to be any movement at all? The shaft doesn't move on the box and it is torqued to 200' lbs. Can a pitman arm wear out?

The Arm should not move on the shaft at all. If it does and cannot be tightened to the point that there is no movement then either the arm or the shaft is bad.

Yes a pitman arm can wear out. Just replace one on my Dodge and WOW, what a difference.

Wow....and Yes that is worn out. It shouldn't have any play in it.

The video is with out any weight on the front end so it's worse than I thought last night.
