conflict makes boring things more interesting. Its a forum and theres no such thing as serious conversation.

Building these trucks is my day job and hobby and has been for quite a few years now. I'm not saying my opinion is right, but it's just that my opinion.

I've made plenty of power with these trucks and never blocked the wastegate on any. (except for one lb7 and the gate tab blew out the tail pipe)

My point is that your turbo is designed to be wastegated from the factory, and will begin to gate at around 19PSI or below. The most accepted method for increasing boost would be to slow the flow of pressure entering the actuator which increases boost but wont prevent the wastegate from functioning.

If you completely block your wastegate you risk overspeeding your charger if enough fuel is there to do so, and mind you that any figure above 38-40PSI is not increasing power, only heat.

There's some maps that are close to your charger

There's Also some good reading on the garrett site here : http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/tech_center/turbo_tech101.html

Again, There is nothing wrong with not running a gated charger but your charger is designed to be gated.

Just my opinion lol
