Plumbing Question

You might have to pull the wheels and axles off of the house to see it Brent. :flipoff2:

There are hairline fractures in toilet bowl, but does that mean it would not leak into plumbing, and only onto flooring, sub flooring?

I'm guessing here, but RtR alluded that if the cracks are in the "P trap" (holds the water in the bowl)... it could leak down/empty...

OTOH, should do it consistantly & all the time, not just of "wash day", right?

well, it's not just wash day, that at least just "SEEMS" to make it go faster. Maybe Multiple issues???

Oh and Joel, I checked the air in th tires and we are sitting level, so I don't think that's the issue... :fuck-you:

black plastic is abs, not pvc. you should definitely notice some water somewhere below it or on the floor if it's leaking that much. sounds like it was just vented poorly/improperly.

give me the size of the lines, how many drains are in that bathroom, the size of the line they run into, and how far away the nearest vent is located and its size. then i can tell you if it's done right or not.

well, I took a closer look at the toilet bowl and the floor in the crawl. I'm in for some expense....

Got down and looked back up in the toilet and saw a pin hole in the bottom. Went back under the house to look around some more and this is the point at which I got a lump in my throat.

Found a puddle on the ground about 3-4' away from the toilet... under the shower. Looked up and found some wet joists. Not Bad, so it hasn't been that way long.

Looks like the Bathroom remodeling just got moved up on the list of rooms to redo. We were already planning on ripping out the 70's tile in the shower, looks like the Sub flooring is coming with it.

sorry to hear it, but in the scheme of things that's not too bad. sounds like you've at least caught it before major damage has occured. i've seen some houses in BAD shape structurally from toilet leaks and/or leaking shower pans. mold can become an issue also.

in fact, i'm in the middle of dealing with a less than desireable situation in my own master bathroom. sub floor was completely shot, the bottom of some of the framing, and the joists had started to rot a bit on the top. i knew it was going to need the work when i bought it though.
