I've got an 87 Tin Top Zuk, great body, new headliner, no motor. I also have a totaled 96 Sidekick Sport with the 1.8L. Think it's worth it to try and put the Kick motor in the Zuk, or just part everything out?
I know the adapter and wiring crap from Trailtough is roughly $1200 for this particular engine, but I was going to try and use the original Kick harness in the Zuk, and build a new dash and use the Kick gauges and all.
I've pulled the 5.13's out of the front diff, and have contacted a guy in SC about converting the rear axle to use Zuk tubes.
For the tranny, I was going to find a 2wd Kick tranny and keep the divorced Zuk case since I believe the Kick drivetrain will be too long and too hard to adapt in the Zuk.
What are your thoughts on all this? I've got two non-working vehicles and money tied up in both. I'm open to anything.
