Problematic LockRight in GM 14 bolt

75 K5 with 37’s. GM 14 bolt with LockRight locker. Sometimes/half the time not engaging. Seems like I have to spin the one tire alot or just stop or put it in reverse to get it to maybe engage. It will spin the one wheel all the way up a hill and never engage. There’s no consistent pattern. I can it hear it loud clunking lock/unlock at random times. When it locks, it usually stays locked. Was going to pull it to check it out. Any thoughts on causes?
 
Start simple: are the tire pressures even in the rear and tires equal in size in true measurement, not just sidewall print?

Beyond that, pull it and inspect. Have a rebuild kit on hand and throw new springs and pins at it while it's out.
 
How many miles are on it? My last lokrite lasted about 40K of daily driving and weekend wheeling. Blew in Uwharrie. rounded the teeth off.
