this and one other dent in the door post are the only places screwed up. got a buddy who owes me a favor who is gonna straiten it out for me. im thinking about taking this diamond tread and making a CD player and CB radio din. im told a Cobra 19 fits right in place of the ash tray though. may do that.

the guy a bought it from had already bought some polyurethane bushings for the Tcase and Tranny, but he never put them in. said he didnt know how. after studying a little i found it was a common problem among Sammis. it felt like it was shifting fine, but when i pulled the shifters niether had a single bushing. so after i put in the bushings he gave me for it in (which was very simple) it feels wayyyy better than before!
 
pulled the motor/ cant get pics

got the motor out, pulled the pan off and was amazed at what i found! ive done a lot of old school big blocks and high performance late model Camaros and never seen this before. the connecting cap for the rod seems to have had the bolt break and the cap got curled up like crazy and smashed into the walls. the block is junk now, it could never be bored enough, not even sleeved its so bad. i cant even get the piston out unless i cut the rod in half.
pulling a motor with a come-along and a tree branch isnt as easy as being in a 5 star shop with everything you need, but i got it done.:beer:

i took a lot of pics, but when i try to upload them it tells me "upload of image failed" dosent say why, dosent say its too big or anything??
i have pics of the truck im selling too.
any suggestions guys? i really need/want to get these pics up on here.
 
ok, so today i actually had time to sit down at the computer for a while. i tried and tried and tired to edit all the pics i have and get them down to size so i could upload them. im no computer wiz so i couldnt get it to work. i got a friend who is real good and says when he has time he will do it for me.
but as for an update, im working 2 jobs and sleeping about 4 or 5 hours a day and on weekends some times. i really dont have time to do anything right now, but im saving up the money to just but all the parts i need at one time, so i can rebuild the other motor i bought, i want to have every part i need and have it put back together in one day. it is basicly a rolling tub right now, gonna pressure wash all the grease out of the engine bay and stuff, then paint in there. and from now on ill just take pics with my phone cause i know that works.
 
i havent forgot about this thread for anyone keeping up with it, just havent done anything laltey. but i will be ordering lift kit, motor rebuild kit, racing seats with 5 point harnes and everything else i need minus wheels and tires very soon, then this thing will be about ready for the trail. just been working my tail off and spending spare time with the lady.
but i got some pics ill be posting up Sunday hopefully!
 
Ok so I've officially decided that im not doing this project anymore. I saved and saved for all the parts to buy them at once (over $2000 total) and I came across a nice ass XJ that is turn key and go with a 6" lift and 32' that I bought. Couldn't pass it up. I have a motor, brand new rebuild kit and stage 3 clutch for the samurai. Just gonna sell it all as a package real cheap if anyones interested. Ill post it in the for sale section soon.
