Went out to URE today to test out the new Hydro Assist. Ran great for the first hour then noticed a noise coming from the front end and then no power steering. One of the fittings on the pump came loose. Not a big deal tightened it up and put more fluid in. 30 minutes later same thing same fitting was loose again. If you are on the ground looking at the pump it is the hose closest to you.

I have nothing to offer for your problem, but I do have a question for you. If you are running a PSC reservoir, where did you mount it?

it's right near where the brake master cylinder is on my TJ...and I'd guess where it is on a YJ...

Is it the right type of fitting for the pump?

appears to be...

it's one of those brass fittings that goes into the hole then has the compression nut that tightens down on top of it...

the compression nut is what backed off twice...the first time it was finger loose...

I tightened it with an adjustable wrench the best I could...filled it back up, and it held pressure when cranked and moving the wheel back and forth...

just must not have held pressure once he started wheeling again...

filled it up and tightened it one more time...and it didn't appear to leak again...but we headed back out to the trucks/trailers, so not sure how long it would've held...

the problem is the radiator was making contact and allowing the vibrations to transfer to the compression nut...

once that gets straightened out, it'll be just fine...

I assume you talked to Andy. Good deal I am glad it was something that simple. Now if he can fix the fan from hitting something I will be good to go.

yep...I stopped by this morning on the way to work...

it has to do with the body lift, position of fan shroud, and position of radiator...

once that's all "adjusted" to where it ought to be...you should be good to go...

:D
