I have been running 34x9.5-15 TSLs for a while now and I love them. Right now I am stuck in a 2 tire purchase every about 2 years (2 newer tires on the rear, while the older ones up front). Next year is going to be one of the years I will need to pick up 2 more tires. I have 2 options, stick with the 2 tires every 2 years, or go get 4 new tires (plus a spare possibly) and get 4 tires every 4 years.

In the natural progression of things size wise the Q78 TSLs makes perfect sense. 35.5"x10.8" with the same amount of tread at 27/32nds as the 34x9.5s. In other words tall, skinny, and a LOT of tread. But then I started thinking about the 35x10.5 Boggers. But I have always heard Boggers suck on the rocks (slide sideways). What are the opinions of those that have run boggers on the rocks? And what are the opinions of those that have cut/grooved boggers and run them on the rocks?

Because I figure a possible solution would be to cut/groove the boggers to help them grab onto the rocks better. Only downside is grooving them would void the warranty. Right now I only groove my TSLs when they get down to the wear bars to put some more life in them. I haven't grooved tires to gain traction yet. Mainly because it voids the warranty, and my truck is my DD. (Yes I DD Bias Ply tires, its only 10 miles round trip to work).

So any thoughts on the Boggers? Or should I just stick the the TSLs which I have grown to like anyway?

you would have to change the settings under your user id if you switched tires... other than that, i can be of no help. cuz1 on here had some Q78's used and some beadlocks. i am trying to get the beadlocks from him. last time i spoke to him, he still had the tires too.

stay with the TSL's i like boggers for the deep woods but on the trail in mt city i didnt care for the boggers...they bite like hell but the tsl's would be better for all around used.
also boggers sound good on the road but you'll def feel it lol and screws will come loose all over you rig..

I can't speak for them on extreme rocks...but I feel the TSL is a far superior and more versatile tire ove the Bogger. Personally, I'm not a fan of the Bogger in anything but the mud...and to look totally badass. On the set of Boggers I have on 77 250, at about 10k, I couldn't hear my gf, at 15k I couldn't hear my stereo and at 20k, I couldn't hear my 12" Cherry Bombs. Bias plies are bias plies, they'll flat spot in the morning, worse as it gets colder and they have accelerated wear when compared to radials...all stuff you know, so that's a wash. IMO, Boggers are not for the faint of heart on the street, and there are more versatile options on the trail.
