quake

anyone feel the small earthquake this morning just before 5am? I sleep pretty heavy, but it woke me up. Just a quick shudder of the house and rumble. like something big had exploded near by. Kinda freaky as I've never felt one before. I think they said it measured 2.6.

I just mentioned it to my parents, and they said my brother felt it. He told them this morning that around 5AM he woke up to strange noises and shaking. He tought he was dreaming. He lives in Kernersville/Colfax.

They hadn't heard about the quake, so now they can let him know that it wasn't a dream!

Yeah, it's pretty crazy. I didn't hear anything, probably because i was sound asleep, but everyone at work is talking about it. hopefully that'll be all we get though, wouldn't want anything stronger.

Swear we just felt another one at about 19:50 hrs...

dang, and another just now at about 21:15!! guess the world is coming to an end. anyone ever felt this many around here before? I've been in NC for about 14 years now and never felt any.

Yep - this website shows a 1.5 magnitude at 7:54PM, so 19:50 is right on.

Definately felt the 1950 and 2110 tremors and now a very small one at 2140! crazy shit, my daughter is freaked out!!

Holy crap. I'm in Atlanta right now, but my wife called and told me about feeling it this morning. Can't believe I'm missing this (live in Lewisville). She says the cat was totally freaked out.

My bro said his cat was freaked out too. And something REALLY strange - when my parents got to their business (which is behind my brother's house) Tuesday morning, there was a big buck dead beside the building with its horns stuck in the chain-link fence, and no other apparent injuries. My brother said that after the 5AM quake, he kept hearing noises outside, like metallic rattling - could the deer have gotten freaked out by the quake and run and hit the fence, then broken its neck trying to get its horns un-stuck?
