What would it take for you to give up on Jeep? Or if you're not a loyal Jeep lover, what would it take for you to come to the dark side?
Let's say GM bought Jeep and started putting the 5.7 V8 in there.
What if Toyota bought Jeep, would you Yota owners think about buying a Jeep then?
This crossed my mind today and thought it may be a good topic.

I came to "the dark side" because of a sweet deal on an almost a Jeep (ZJ) that my wife's boss wanted gone. Had I known what one of my customers would offer me for it before I got out the plasma and the 37's I would still be the proud owner of a Jeep, but in the form of a CJ-7.

well... seeing as "JEEP" hasn't truly existed fore SEVERAL years, I don't see the issue ;)

nah, but seriously.... not sure, I'd have to think about that one.

being an owner of about 10 different jeeps so far in my life, i would have to say i am not a fan of any jeep past the year of 2001 except for wranglers. and after 2005 i am not a fan of ANY jeep honestly.

to me, the older the better for a Jeep. and if somebody else bought Jeep out i wouldnt care at all considering what i stated above.

Just like Poker...I'm "IN" til the money runs out...

But we all know what JEEP stands for...

Just Empty Every Pocket...

I mainly like all the 'oL Skool" shit like Flatties, early CJ's, FSJ's, EB's, IH's...an 'ol Bowties

ahem, well actually I...sorta might be confused already? Not a diehard fan really, but have owned 4 Jeeps, loved em all.

I think if they ever go IFS, drop the solid axles in the Wrangler series Jeep will fade pretty quickly.

I just sold both of my jeeps for a total of 7300 bones! The one 78 cj7 for 6100 I had for about 9 years! The other for 1200.

I now I drive a chevy k5 with a v8. And for some reason I still keep collecting / buying jeep parts!!

LOL:confused: :D

I don't know how anyone with a 30" or more inseam can even drive a CJ or TJ.. They're cramped as hell..

Anyway, what does it matter.. by the time you're done, it's got a non stock engine, trans, t-case, 1-tons from one of the big 3, and typically retains little else OEM.

First, I'm a diehard Jeep guy.
For me, the more plastic on and in them, the less I want them. Compared to the other OEM's, not much else out there appeals to me. I wanted to like the new FJ, but good grief, I hated that thing. New 4 door wrangler is cool but underpowered, my current TJ is underpowered. For me to buy another new one, b/c I would like to have a four-door next, it has to have a diesel or V8. Otherwise, I will look elsewhere.

Thats why I like my full size. Big motor, strong tranny and tcase, and tons are bolt it if you keep leaf springs. Sure, the body takes a hell of a beating, but its a trail rig, not a show queen.

My cj had mostly jeep parts swapped in. 360/727/d300/d44's...Most of the drive train was from a wagoneer! :flipoff2:Also I am 6'3" and did fine with leg room etc...

For me, it would take something like Chrysler buying Jeep, or adding square headlights, or putting in plastic dashboards, or Dana 35's, or making a 4 door 2wd jeep with plastic fenders. Luckily none of this would ever happen.

Jeep is one of the few vehicles you can buy a stock model and go from the showroom floor to the woods. Easy to work on. I like the older ones myself.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the History of the Jeep. It fought for our freedom and won. You can't say that about any other vehicle. What did they use the Chevy, Ford, Samauri, Toyota, Land Cruiser, etc. in the war for? There is a possibility that some were used in the later wars, but I doubt on the front lines.

Power Wagons were used a lot :flipoff2:

You've got to be kidding me. Unless you drive a Willy's, that doesn't hold an ounce of water.

That's like saying I drive (what's left of a) Land Cruiser because the guy in Africa who discovered the cure for (insert epidemic disease name here) was driving a FJ40 when he found it.

My Toyota has more American parts than any new Jeep on the showroom floor..

I think I speak for the majority jeep owners.....

A 4WD convertible, removable door vehicle that looks cool and has a ton of aftermarket goodies. Something to do some easy trailriding in.

I got mine cause I missed my convertible mustang, and I also wanted a 4WD. Choices are limited in this style of vehicle. I also rode around in a buddies jeep for a couple of summers and it grew on me.
