like axles, trailer hitches, spring packs and on and on....

how do you guys do it?

I have no experience with anything that large or heavy.
I usually work locally, but might need to ship something west.

Plenty of trucking companies available. Call any one of them, and they'll ship you in the right direction....punn intended:lol:

I have shipped a good number of transmissions & transfer cases, plus numerable other parts, all across the U.S. I take 'em to the UPS Store and they do it all. No fuss,no mess, no hassle. In the end it may cost a few bucks more, but it's worth every penny.

Spring packs are easy. Tape the bushings up and slap a label on them. All the shipping companies will take them like that.

For larger crated items I have used Forward Air before. Their prices have gone up in recent years but they get the job done. The key with any LTL freight carrier is to have a dock for loading and unloading at both ends of the trip (or to drop off/pick up at their DCs). Otherwise you will pay quite a bit more for handling.
