Quick Ford D44 question

Can someone tell me if the driver's side spring perch is cast into the housing of a 77-79 Ford D44?
 
uhhh.....im pretty sure i took the cut off wheel to the perch on the d44 im workin on

it is pass-drop though, out of an old jeep

No matter which ford dana 44 you choose you should still be able to remove the offending material and weld on spring perches.
 
I had a 78 ford hp 44 and it was not casted just welded on. To get them off just take a cutting torch and heat the welds up and take a big hammer and proceed to bet the crap out of them. If they are casted into the tube then just grinned the crap out off them and weld on top.
 
When it comes to radius arm Ford D44's, you will need to find a 77.5 or older to get the welded radius arm mounts. After mid 1977, they went to the cast version. :)
 
I'm talking about a 32.5" centerpin-centerpin leaf sprung HPD44. Those only came in F-250s, correct?
