Anyone know how to do this for a 1989 Toyota or seen any articles.

i think its on 4x4 wire...i did it to my 85, all you do is drill out the stock pins and replace them with small hitch pins. just pull the pins and the doors come right off

Check the FAQ on pirate4x4. You can use the pins like metto said or, cut part of stock hinge and only use one bolt per hinge. Check out pirate, its easy.
