I'm needing to make a change in the shape of my radiator...

I'm going to stick with a copper/brass rad (auto parts store stuff), but without just taking a tape into the back and tearing into all the boxes, anyone know of a source for radiator sizes?

Needs to be:
crossflow,
inlet top left, outlet bottom right,
tanks on the ends, (not top & bottom)
with a rectangular shape, long side horiztonal.

Something around 18x24 would be nice, I really want to be shorter than 19" high.

A cj or wagoneer might be a good option. I'll meaure my rad for you later today. Wagoneer radiators are a little bigger.

Oh, I'd realllly like for this to be an A-list listing, i.e. the cheap ones.. i.e. a Chevy Caprice rad is $100. A Waggy one is nearly $200...

He said he needed a cross flow. Both CJ and Waggy are Top tank.

Rich IIRC you are running a SBC.
Look at 1980's GM midsize cars - like Chevelles (Malibu) they will be crossflow and will have the necks on the correct sides for you.

I have a book at the shop I can check, for you, but I won't be there until tomorrow.

Rich I have a waggy radiator you can try or buy if it works out for you.

oops maybe I sould read all of the post....any way offer still stands

My bad. I didn't know about that. :)

rich the only way to really see if its an a-list item is to troll the parts web sites and see whats in stock for an area. (It varrys by area) back home in NY many more radiators and other rust out parts are A list items. Down here maybe not as much...

Reguardless any of the big 3 mass produced cars will be good targets. You cant chanel the frame and make one like mine fit?

Might try common cars with alternate engine combos.

GM trucks, intermediate cars, S-10s, FWDers..??

I'd recamend hitting a JunkYard with a tape measure and a notebook...

I use partsamerica.com for most 'browsing'

Rich, I agree with Yager on this. Hit the salvage yards with a tape measure. When cars come in thats one of the first things removed. The better yards have them marked as to what they come off of. That would be ideal, know what it come off of. You may be able to find one for 25 to 50 bucks in great shape. And then again you might just find one that fits, and then get a new one for peice of mind. At the same time, a lot of the later modle stuff has the electric fans/shrouds attached so brackets and so on are there just to ease instalation.
