Raleigh Area Tattoo shop referrals?

Greg at Warlocks is still one of the best around:beer:

Also can be a lil heavy but his shading is awesome, but the heavy part is only for the scared people

Don't go to Blue Flame on Hillsboro (if it's still there) if you want your outlines to be neat, clear, not look like a kindergardener drew them with a fat black crayon, not have colors bleeding over, etc...
and yes, I took obsessive care of it after getting it, etc...At around 5 years old, it looks ok from 5 feet away, but once you look closely (as I do) it gets messy...

I was going to get my next one at Tattoo Zoo, which used to be in Cary by the Indian restaurant, although I have heard they moved closer to NCSU...seen a lot of GREAT pics of their work, seemed like nice guys, etc...

Yea I got my first tat there and it was terrible. Still have holidays out the wazoo and it looks pretty crappy

Yep, I forgot Tattoo Zoo, They do awesome work like Greg. The owner their done a half sleeve dragon on one of my good friends. his name is Kevin.

Steve at Tattoo Zoo is one of the best in NC. Top notch line work and very solid color placement along with sound attention to detail. He is a little slow and can be heavy handed at times, but every time I am back in NC I get work from him. To specify, he is finishing up my sleeve.

greg has done all mine at warlocks but has anybody noticed that Byrun (owner) has gone straight A-Hole lately. not friendly at all anymore and doesnt want to ink anybody

Straight A does good work. They are in Asheboro, thats not to far a drive. James did mine, and didn't mine doing anything large in one setting. Oh yea, they are not high priced like others.

YES byron is anal recently... but hes still a good guy

My first vote is ERNIE at warlocks. He is very fast, and still does an incredible job. He has the most experience out of anyone in central N.C. and has been tattooing longer tha anyone else around. He isnt easy to get an appointment with always because he doesnt have to work, he just enjoys doing it. Hes drawing up a piece for me right now though.

My second choice is tattoo zoo.

You won't get a better bang for your buck than by Zeus at Twisted Sixes in Durham, across from the Northgate Mall. He's good but dude has to go back in the back for 30 minutes before starting and every hair on his head is sticking straight up when he comes out? But he did mine and my Fiance's matching tats and pretty much re-did one of hers for $100. Three hours worth and good work. I haven't went back for my free touch-up yet. He'll do my next one...
