If the ratchet straps weren't there, I would have more concern, but honestly worst case is one end outruns the other and the slow end hits the pavement and cracks (or a bus full of puppy carrying nuns passes on the right and explodes as the stray pipe flies through the windshield and decapitates the driver and everyone in the left row).
