Television? Isn't that like acid: it doesn't melt in your hand, it melts in your mind? I've not really watched TV in the last 18 years, except for a movie here and there with the wife.. people be like, hey did you see x, y and z? I'm say what's that, never heard of it. News disconnected as well, I get my news from nc4x4, & if it's important enough, someone will tell me about it... And if it's really important, I'll then look it up on my phone.
