RE1600 track bar wear out

So took the heep in to have the power steering box seal replaced and the mechanic tells me that the trackbar has some play. I had noticed that the steering wheel was not precisely centered as it used to be. Anyway, anyone have any experience with one wearing out? I am assuming the heim is what has worn out and not the hardware. I need something to tie me over until I can fix it right.
Anybody replaced it with the Currie Johnny Joint? I've seen pics of it single shear mounted.

$25 for it to just wear out again or $55 and maybe not wear out with Johnny Joint. JJ can also be used if I ever weld on a double shear mount.

A quality heim will probably outlast a jj and from the looks of it I see a lot of rust around the bolt that is an indication that it is loose in the hole.
RE trackbars use a hard fiber bushing in the axle end that tend to wear out so I replace those with a poly bushing and install a grease zerk in that end.

While not really local to you, Barnes is a NC based company that has a good quality joint. You should have it in no time if you order from there

Barnes heim. Pic doesn't show it is slightly beefier and the spacers are better than the factory RE.

If you're going to leave it single shear like that, put a safety washer on the bottom. I think Brad carries them.

Also, red locktite and a torque wrench. And a Gr8 stover nut.

Yeah I should have added the safety washer. Probably very little chance I would ever need it but small price to pay for the security.
