My CJ has SOA, and recently one of the mounts broke off on the rear axle. I drove for about 10 feet after it broke, the rear end was bucking really badly. I had a local shop re-weld the mount, and since then I feel shuddering from the rear end when I shift. What could be causing this? Also, there is a clicking sound coming from the tranny when the clutch is depressed. I'm afraid that 10 feet f'd my tranny. Do I need to take my CJ back to the shop? Could the axle be at the wrong angle for the drive shaft?

Thanks.

My intarweb jeep diagnostic module isn't loading right now.. So strictly guessing, it's possible you just toasted the rear u-joint, definitly check that and its not a big deal to replace. If the shop simply fixed what was these im not sure how the angle would have changed ? besides its not hard for a SOA pinion angle to be off. Springs settle or bend. Put a gauge on and measure it then you will know for sure.

Whats it sound like if you free spin it with the drive shaft removed.

if the 10feet f'd your trainy then was goin out anyway
Take rear drive shaft off and drive it with the front if you can and see if it go's away. and if it does then inpect the U-joints and the the rear end.
