Ok, So I use a LOT of grease, in a good week, I'll use 2 tubes of grease a day sometimes more, use about a case a week. using a standard pump type grease gun is pretty tiring, especially on a vehicle with many lube points.
I've used a few different air operated guns, and have been less than impressed with most, the more expensive ones working pretty well, but then you are tied to an air source. ( not always easy to get service van close enough to vehicle being serviced)
So, I though I'd try a battery operated grease gun, nothing real expensive, ( some upwards of $300) I found this;

found here http://www.thetoolwarehouse.net/shop/LEG-L1380.html
$77 with batteries and a 1hour charger.
Got it today, pretty decently made, pump body is aluminum, has an air bleed/primer pressure regulator and even a carry strap and a hook on the body to hang from a shelf.
Tomorrow will be the test, see how it does in the real world and see how durable reliable it really is. figure I could afford to try this and if it failed or didn't last long, I wouldn't be out much.

2 tubes a day !! Thats alot of greasing. What you working on ? What voltage is the gun ?

lift trucks of all types, Moffets, and a few other odds and ends, service and repair.

Is 12volt, seems to work pretty well, for all that I used of it today (mostly playing, did hydrulic repairs all day)

As for the KY, yeah, nice water base lube used for priming of fluid pumps and washes away with no residue and no contamination worries. Also helps sliding hoses togehter and other misc. repairs. Handy stuff.

I never worked on a Moffet before. They got that little German air cooled diesel in them? Douhtz (sp) or something like that. 12V is cool you could run a set of jumpers to it and hook the truck battery,grease all day like that. KY now thats a slippery subject.

i actually have a gun almost identical to that which we use at work to grease our moffit, lift gates, loading dock ramps, and hand truck wheels....

we've had it about a year and so far no problems... though we definatly only use it about a day a month.....

unfortunatly i don't know the brand. sorry....

-Erik <--- thinks we paid closer to about $250 for ours. i like yours better :)
