Recession?

Yup.
I'm going to Fed court tomorrow to appeal a really stupid ticket (fine). If it isn't dropped guess what I'm paying with.
I think you’re doing it wrong…..use of the ones that is. Pretty sure @Shreddinlettuce had a better idea

Well my company laid me off in May. I believe there is a mild downturn coming as things are sorted out. I am taking the opportunity to go back to working for myself.

The rumor swirling now is that positions will not be backfilled when people leave.

I'm not sure what the indicator is...I'm covered up with work and booked out at least 10 months.
Need about 5 more head. Been recruiting my ass off for months have not had a single applicant in 7 weeks.
Had 9 apply this week, none from the same company - so not like a layoff situation.

Im thankful for the options, but also interesting.

I haven't seen any recent reports. Locally, I'm seeing new businesses open. The markets seems stable. If the budget bill goes through, I think the solar and EV market will get a quick bump as folks try to get in on tax credits prior to expiration.

Honestly, I think recession threats are folks just talking about the boogyman. Could it come? Sure, just like a hurricane. But I don't see a defined storm forming anywhere.

From what I have been seeing around here, and talking to others, the automotive market is slowing down. Prices havent really dropped much, but people are having to hold onto things much longer.

In machining world, automotive manufacturing is down 13%. Everywhere else is up single digits except aerospace, which is up 25%.
We lost a handful of people that I am aware of to Collins Aerospace about 6 months ago maybe.

Logistics is up and down as usual for us. Nothing noteworthy.
