With a non enclosed blaster, does anyone have any creative ways to recover the media to sift & reuse a time or two? For what I want to do, I should be able to reuse it at least once. I'd though of maybe a kid pool, just dump afterwards. Or maybe build a sandbox type thing? Any ideas?

I tried it once....laid out a 20x20 tarp, gathered up the sand after blasting, screened it, and reloaded. Not worth the effort.

I buy my sand here: http://www.sandandgravel.net/ They are in Hoffman (S. of Southern Pines on US-1). Probably a couple of hours for you, but you can maybe find something similar closer. They have 4 grades/screenings of sand. Minimum charge is $50, which bought me 1600 lbs last time (100# bags). That's cheap enough to not worry about reusing.

50$ for 1600 lbs bagged? That's dirt cheap.

Yep, minimum is 50...16 bags worked out to about 54 bucks...

Last I but was about 4 years ago...have maybe 100# left now.

There is no point in reusing with those costs like you said. I'll definitely look into it. I checked the website & it didn't give a ton of detail. They have various grits bagged. Or pretty much 1 grit bagged?

When I blasted my CJ3A I though that I would be able to re-use some of the media. After shoveling the first hundred or so pounds up and trying to screen it, I realized it wasn't worth the time.
