Remanufactured 4L60E Questions

Truck is my beater 2000 Silverado Z71 with 250k miles. Transmission has been "searching" for 3rd gear for a while. A ticking time bomb ya know. Yesterday it started slipping bad in 4th gear on the interstate so i know its time to replace it. Any of ya'll got a first hand recommendation of who to buy one from?

Don't want to rebuild this one due to down time and a warranty would be nice.

Another option is the dealership, especially if you know someone who can get it for you wholesale. We put gm remans in for customers at work and have no issues.

Last one I priced was a GM reman with 3yr 100k mile warranty and it was around $1700 wholesale.

my local rebuilder was 8-900 for a 4l60e with all the usual updates with core. (I think he offered a one year warranty)

Buddy of mine recommended monster transmission for our work suburban that is suffering from the same problem. Never used them myself.

One I fried on a towing trip, was $1600, installed, with aux cooler added. But, That was around 18 years ago. And my garage Wasn't cheap!

my price may have been because volume & shop discount.. i would say 1600 is a average rebuilt with good warranty price.

I had the 700r4 rebuilt for my jeep and it cost me $700, iirc. Had a small shop in High Point do it as a bench job last year. 1 year warranty. Should be the same cost for a 4l60, I would think. They were the cheapest I found, btw. And the only one I could find locally to do a bench job on a 700. The 4l60 doesn't have the same cable setup issues though, so I'm sure that more shops would do one without installation.
