Replacing CJ-7 ECM

I have an 83 cj with the stock 6 banger, Holley carb and Im pretty sure the dizzy has been upgraded by the PO already. My question is, can I replace the pos ECM with the MSD 6A box I have? Im trying to eliminate the stock junk as much as possible.
 
I'm been running MSD, on my CJ-304, for years. Had to replace the coil last year. Keep the ECM mounted, for a spare. It's a simple swap plugs & go, if ever needed. Think mine is the 6A. Research MSD, & be sure it's compatible with the 258. Someone here should know, just hasn't jumped in yet.
