Good evening...

I’ve read that one can replace a yoke without any excitement so long as you retorque to the original torque of the spindle nut.

82 CJ7 model 20 rear differential

Is this true?
Do I replace the crush washer?
Should I replace the pinion seal?

Am I going to screw this up? (Hahaha!!)

Love to hear opinions as I’m very mechanically inclined and don’t want to haul it to the shop for an easily avoided repair cost!

Thanks.
Jeff

Our resident rear end specialist should be by soon @Loganwayne or our resident rear differential specialist @Jody Treadway
I have done several by marking the yoke to the nut to the pinion and going just slightly past my marks (1/8 to 1/4 turn)to put a little more on the crush washer/sleeve.
