He can't help it.. he went to the DPG. Carnage is inevitable.
Yeah, if you mess with the devil he's gonna mess with you, there'll be the devil to pay, I had a devil of a time, he's a mean little devil, those rocks are black as the devil, like a dance with the devil, and all those other devil sayins :) Had a great time even though it was cut short by carnage. Broken ujoint, front axle shaft, front leaf spring center pin and a little rash on the fender. Just a warning for those running 36+ tires on D44 fronts....

I've said many times bring your spares cause your gonna break something. I lost a axle shaft u joint last time I was there too. I've been getting about 2 rides on a spicer ujoint in my 44 if I'm lucky. someone go ahead and say it" you need a 60":flipoff2:

Sorry I missed seeing how you did that John. Will I get another chance on March 11th? :)

What brand of joint is that? Regular SPL55-3x joints tend to stretch the ears of stock shafts before they break, from what I've seen.

If you're twisting off neck-down inners, you should probably look into replacing those 30spl stubs with something a bit more substantial, too. Would hate to have a stub snap and take out your spindle and hub, too.

The last 2 times I have been out there a front 44 shaft breaks in my XJ. Hopefully alloys will fix that problem. DPG sure is fun though :D

Not sure yet. I have a Tellico trip planned for that weekend. Things could change but if I get everything swapped I'm heading for the hills :)

Seriously, do you just like to post useless stuff? I mean, you have taken apart a 9" ford, and now you are the offical axle master. Do you have any experience with a dana 44 and 39's? I don't personally, so thats why im not saying any thing. Cut the crap, dont try to act like you have been in this sport for 20 years. How much real world experience do you really have?

I bet youre gonna come down and show us how that 44 holds up to 39.5's in some big rocks too.........:driver:

Scott, you need a 60.

BF joints are complete junk. I can't remember the name of the shop, but it is across I-40 from Northern, and across Sandy Ridge from a gas station. They sell Spicer U-joints, including the 760 model for a D44. Fleetpride does also, which is up off Boeing drive.

I think he's ridden at the Playground more than you WITHOUT breaking...lol:flipoff2:

Or if you want to follow Greg's lead on how not to break...

Keep your fuel tank empty. Nothing breaks while sitting still. :flipoff2:

yeah I do post useless shit, if you had read Rich's comment about are you kidding about puting 39's on a dana 44 then you would understand why that is humorous. I dont try to act like ive been in anything for 20 years, you just assume that I act like that. For real world experience I have enough to know that 39's wont go over to well on a dana 44 u joint, axle shaft or carrier if it ever sees anything but pavement. And for my axle, how am I the axle master? I am simply excited as anyone else here on their buildup, and for you personnally get off my fawking nuts tool bag.
