rock hit windshield, will it pass NC inspection?

Question for our vehicle inspectors on the board:
1996 ZJ, Rock hit my windshield on the driver side, and put a nice starburst about the size of a quarter. Will that pass NC inspection if I have it repaired? I've had vehicles before with cracks in the windshield that passed inspection but they were always on the passenger side.

My truck just passed, has a quarter sized "star" right in my line of vision. Guess it all depends on the inspector?

As long as it doesn't interfere with the wipers.

call your insurance and see if it's covered. I know mine covers Windows 100% and no up in rates. It's actually a safety hazard and I THINK.. THINK... it's required by state law for them to replace it.

someon told me if its bigger than a dollar they will fail you but who knows

It will pass so long as you can't feel it with a fingernail. If you have comprehensive insurance coverage, get it repaired and they will waive your deductible. Mbalbritton, that's SC that requires the insurance co to replace a windshield w/o raising your rates. You get one a year.

Called my insurance, it is getting fixed on Monday. They said if it can be repaired, they waive the deductible, if it has to be replaced I have to cover the deductible.

FWIW, I've had pretty decent sized cracks going completely across the driver's side windshield on my truck since I got it 11 years ago, and never had a problem getting it inspected.
