I orderd a set of visionx super white rock lights sat and i am trying to decide what are the best locations on the uderside of the jeep to place them (06 tj). The kit comes with 8 led pods that are very small so i can basically mount them anywhere. I am looking for advice on placement and pics if available if someone has done them before. Thanks in advance for any help.

I used magnets and epoxyed them to the backside of the pods, then mounted them wherever. I did one in each wheel well and the other 4 were under the middle of the Jeep.

Diffs, axles, where your control arms hang down, etc. Since axles etc are generally black they are harder to see nite wheeling, duh right. Easier for a spotter to help when these areas are back lit at nite. What I've done in the past.

Position them so the spread the lite around the under side of the axles and around the areas the tires will be contacting. Not directly over the tires.

Kinda like these

try and avoid having the axle or tire creating shadows like this

If I were you i would mount the temporarily and play with location until you get ones that give you the best coverage. Use zip ties as a temp mounting system.

Personally, I would mount them so they can do what they are meant to do. Allow you to see where your tires are going
which would mean one in front of both front tires
one in front of both rear tires
you have to back up some times, so....
one in back of both tires,
and one in back of both rear tires

That will give you light, no matter what direction you will be going

outstanding sugestions guys,, i def see what you are saying about the shadows, i will do as chip says as in 1 on each side of each tire. , thanks for the advise mike and chip

Those light kits are a sweet ass setup for only $120. You'd have that in relay's, wire, and standard halogens that won't take a beating like LEDs. Ordering a set for myself.
