Rocky Mount help (the NC city, not the trail)

Isn't there somebody here from Rocky Mount, NC? On the city FD maybe, iirc?

We are going to start next week cleaning out my elderly uncle's house in order to move him down here to care for him. He has a TON of stuff/junk that is not worth selling, or giving to goodwill.

Does Rocky Mount have a curbside bulk trash pickup, to where we can just stack the stuff (anywhere from old mattresses and furniture to old bikes and lawnmowers) at the curb, or is there a refuse collection place where we have to take it? If so, can you drop off at no cost, or is there a fee? How about a roll-off? Who handles dumpsters up there, the city, or a waste management company?

It'll probably be at least a full roll-off or several pickup truck loads.

Most places here have "community" drop off areas for homeowner trash, etc. If you live in city limits, they will pick up the trash. For bulk items that is abnormal, you have to call the city beforehand. If not, come trash day you'll be SOL and may be end up with a fine if left there all week, etc.

I"m not far from RM. If you end up needind a little help, let me know. I'm always looking for something to pass my days.. :)
