roll cage and unibody?

on the floor you can see where the "frame rails" are welded to the floorpan... I would use plates to tie into that area, as it is structural... also, I would recommend tying it into the control arm mounts to strengthen that up as well...
 
Mine is done that way. I have plates where the cage meets sheet steel. And mounts at the suspension mounting points as well.

Big plates where the tube is mounted to the body, both sides if it's bolted in (sandwhich). You want to spread the load as much as possible so it does not shear/punch thru the sheet metal. Stiffning the suspension mounts is a plus also.
