Roofing transition question

So, I'm kicking around adding on to my shop with a pole barn type structure with a lean to roof. There are many ways to think of this, but it's more complicated since I want to attach to my existing shop. Current shop is on the right.

I've kicked around running the roof sheet all the way to the eave of the current shop, but then I came up with this idea. How much trouble will I get in for the watershed in the corner. Could I flash it in a way to keep water out? I figure I would put gutter there to keep the water out of the corner of the shop.

Should I look at doing this a different way? I could add to the back side, but this is the most desirable due to the access.

You do not want the water being pushed to that point as you will eventually get a wall leak no matter how you flash and seal. The way this is done on new construction is to flatten that pitch to get a horizontal plane before it intersects the vertical wall. What you need to do is reduce the roof pitch on the small gable intersecting with the new shop wall and rework that larger gable end so it flattens off rather than tapers down. Then you will flash and seal the vertical wall against the reworked roof and for good measure install some roof rain diverter to redirect flow of the end of that roof and into a gutter.

There is nothing wrong with that design if constructed properly. What type of roof (shingles or metal)? Copper soldered would be the best that transition. The entire transition needs ice and water shield installed correctly and up the shop wall which needs a 2x8 or 10 the flashing done right.

I could also be built with shingles and open metal valleys

Flashing needs a kick out at the end of it and into a gutter.

Millions of ways to skin a cat. But if that design is what you want, it can be done.
