I have a 2 person tepui. I think it’s the Ayer model. I bought it because it was the only one I could get in a reasonable amount of time. The ARB and Smittybilt tents were all backordered for several weeks. I like it, it seems to be well made. The biggest gripe I have was that the mattress was way too firm so I added a 2” memory foam topper to it. The only other complaint is that the entry and ladder are not covered by the annex when you zip it on. On the larger rooftop tents the fly completely covers the entry and allows the annex to be zipped around it so you can get in and out of the tent and into the annex without getting wet. Makes it a nice little room below that you can use to take your shoes off before you get inside or cook or shower.
Most of the lower end tents are all from the same overseas factory. The frames are the same, the difference is in the fabrics usually but that is only slight. The one exception is the Wheel Every Weekend tent. They buy them from the same factory but replace all the hardware with heavier duty stuff, 10.9 bolts, thicker hinges, etc. after they get them at their shop in California. I believe the WEW is about the price of the arb but it is built better and at least assembled in the US unlike all the cheap tents.
