On 99 TJ 6 cylinder 5 speed what is the round bump in the exhaust pipe between radiator and oil pan. Some kind of cat convertor or what ? Looking at removing if it is restriction.

There should be 2 pre CAts and then your O2 sensors and then your large before the muffler. I would not remove if you want you jeep to pass emisions ever again.
he says between the radiator and the oil pan, which isnt the clearest description when talking about exhaust,
but i think hes thinking of the dent(could be thought of as a bump?)which is on the downpipe for front driveshaft clearance, you could remove it, but then youd run the risk of "self-clearancing" the pipe with your fromt shaft on the trail
