Rust Behind Windshield Gasket

Well I sure didn't want to see this hiding behind the gasket! I'm sure this isn't the worst there is but yikes. I can't see spending all the $'s to "fix" this rust and hope to just clean/smooth it as much as possible, put in new glass, put some caulk behind the seal and hope for the best. It is going to be under cover most of the time so out of the weather and clearly not trying to make a show truck here. Other than comments about not doing it in such a half ass way :laughing:, any tips or pointers on how to handle would be appreciated.

Wire brush it and naval jelly to get the rust off and killed, then you can either bend some 10 gage into an angle iron and tack every inch or so followed by automotive seam sealer or use a fiberglass kit like bondo brand makes it’s a ton of labor but won’t cost you much more than your lungs and fingertips

Do not use expanding foam to cover it or the rest of the truck will rot out
