I picked up four 31/10.50/15 TSL's on Friday and they're mounted on ranger wheels. All of the wheels have some rust but one of them has a lot. What can I do to remove the rust off of this wheel? I'm thinking of taking some steel wool to it then going over it with 320 grit sandpaper. I'll spray paint the wheels black after that. Is there an easier way to get the rust off or should I just do what I said? Here's a pic of the wheel...

Wire wheel.....I would do it outside because it's going to make one hell of a mess. I've done the same thing before. If you don't have grinder then you can come over and use mine.......just bring a wirewheel

Yeah I have a grinder. The weather is just too shitty to get out and do something. Thanks for the offer though dude.

Don't you work at a tire shop or something? I'd break them down and put them on some heep wheels

IMHO, those look to be some old Mopar steel wheels (same 5x4.5 pattern as the Ranger) & can be picked up @ PAP cheap. Unless you do not want to dismount them, might be cheaper in the long run.

Good luck.

No, I just do all the breaking down/mounting myself. I'm thinking about leaving them on these wheels. I have 32" bfg's on the Jeep now. I'm keeping the 31's in my building for the time being and I have 33" baja claws mounted on stock 15x7 Jeep wheels so I don't have any extra wheels to mount them on. I only gave $40 for all four wheels and tires.

Dang....I need some cheap tires for the Blazer...good find

X2 on wire brush for grinder but after your finished I would use some of "Dupli-Color Rust Fix" it sprays on clear and dries as a black primer it is supposed to seal rust so it won't return.
