We are lookin to buy a 28-32 foot camper by spring and seems everything thats in our price range is a Fema trailer. We're not above buyin one and remoldeling if nessacary but none of them have holdin tanks. How much trouble will it be to put the tanks in.Everybody says it's no big deal but they are also the ones tryin to sell us their camper.

What's your price range? I gotta 03' Jayco Jayflight 29BH that I bought new. It's a 29' box & the BH is for bunk house cause it has triple bunks in the back. It's 31.5' from toung to bumper. I only got to use it one time last year & have been thinking about selling it.

there were a lot of trailers that FEMA bought straight off dealers lots. But the real FEMA trailers are the ones with no decals and no options. Those were built in a hurry. Also remember that the appliances do not hold up well to continued use. Those are the big price tag items too.

Probably not enuf :D but in the $3500-$4500 range.

Yeah I know they are very basic models and the only appliance I'm really worried about is the frig.

i have a fema trailer that i bought to park at the beach. the appliances are actually nicer than most travel trailers i looked at. as cheap as i bought it, i figure after it rusts out from the salt, i'll just scrap the rest

There is a place in Asheville that had 3 FEMA trailers for sale about 2 months ago. They ranged from 3500-4900 and were all over 30'. I walked in them and they looked great. I can't remember the name of the business but it was right next to a northern tool or tractor supply, can't remember which. It was also across the street from a huge shoe/boot store where I bought some fire boots. I can try to get some better info if you are interested.

I wouldnt thing it would be much trouble to put holding tanks in. I had to remove my black water (crap tank) to repair a crack. It was only held up by a couple cross members maybe four bolts total. But it will probly get pretty pricey if you are having to buy new tanks and valves.

Keep in mind those trailers are not meant for travel. Besides not having LP tanks the heater, refer, and water heater are not set up to accept heat as they only run on electricity.

Some also did not have any type of holding tanks at all.

None of these would be a problem if you are just setting it someplace with full hook ups.
