I have a 96 XJ with 7" lift front and rear with SYE and 7 degree shims. the question is im ordering an 8" long arm lift and putting 2" blocks and spacers on it. will i need 2 do anything with my front axle so the angle from the pumpkin to the transfer case is not to much? and will my SYE set for 7.5" work in the rear?

I know Im not the greatest Jeep Builder however I do EVERYTHING right so id Like to make sure its safe for my family, friends, others on the trails and myself. ANY ADVICE WOULD BE VERY HELPFUL. feel free to PM,comment on this,Email me Coonhunter1989_24@yahoo.com or txt/call me 360-969-2292 Corey.

Thank you EVERYONE
Corey

You probably don't want to hear this, but a 10" lift on an xj is not safe. No need for it. What do you use the rig for? What size tires etc?

x3 on that, thats alot of lift for a Jeep. Unless it's a purpose built mud truck I say just lower it back down.

i use it for rock crawling mudding trail riding and camping im thinking bout running 36s or 35 just 2 have that much tire travel im at 7-7.5 right now with 33s but its just not what i want maybe i just need 2 try 8.5 with 34s and if I like it ill keep like that. Rustys or IROF make a 8.5-9 front coil and ill get alcan rears. i just bout another rig 2day so if this is a bad idea and i break shit ive got another 96 locked and lifted plz keep adding info thank u everyone so far.

ive already trimed front and rear ive got plenty of room i just wanna go bigger and have more flex for bigger rocks/hills and ive got 8.8 rear LS and 44 front locked front.

well thanks for the info i think im just going 2 get another rear drive shaft and a custom front also

trim your fenders and keep it low.

Dang sorry but that kind of lift is ridiculous for 34's. I have 4.5" spirngs with 37's and trimming. You say you want more flex. But you'll need a something with a high spring rate to suspend you that high without collapsing. Then you won't get the flex. Droop is also flex and typically more stable. Just because you have more lift doesn't mean you have more flex. Here is a pic of my jeep when I first finished the build.

Front and rear flexed out and body level.

I'm running 38s under 6-6.5"s of lift on my XJ. Long arm lift. There isn't much I can't do with it as it sits. I do have an aggressive skinny pedal though.

But if you're gonna lift it higher. You're going to need to extend that front drive shaft some. Mine is extended two inches. (My axle is also forward a bit.) As for the rear, you SYE should be fine depending on your driveshaft length. Worst case scenario you have to extend it as well. I wouldn't buy a whole new shaft, you can just have it lengthened.
