Looking to move my axle back in my 2000 xj, found online about s10 springs push axle back 3 inches, which would be perfect. Trying to figure out how much lift a whole s10 pack would give?

After putting my 14 bolt in I sit at 9” with 5” bds springs, 1.5” relocation brackets and 1.5” shackles, sits way too high now. If I can’t figure this out just going with 2.5” lift leaf springs with Ironman front mounts.

you will get more axle wrap though.

Ive heard flipping give them 5-6” stretch. I’m trying to solve two issues, move the axle back and lower back down some, at 9” now trying to get back around 6.5”. Hoping to knock both out with a spring change and be done.

I searched for a while when I was toying with stuff on my XJ. I think the best thing to do would be getting Comanche or Dakota leaves and re drilling the pin location. Or use Ironman Andy’s front hanger stretch bracket and push it back as far as you need.

The thing you’ll want is a relatively flat leaf spring so it’s comfortable on the bumps and unloads into an arch when all flexed out. You should be able to get 3-4” with some thick leaf packs that aren’t crazy arched.

Good luck. By the end I was researching coil conversions then ended up just 4 linking the rear with coilovers :D

Flipping springs is about a 5" stretch. The dif then hits the fuel tank. Andy makes these nice stretch brackets.

S10 pack will lift it about 5" IIRC.

Thanks ghost, that’s what I wanted to know. Well my patience is running thin, think I’m just gonna get Andy’s front mounts and new 3” xj packs, atleast this method I know will get me right about where I want it, no guessing or swapping single springs out.

Honestly now days to me that is the way to do it. The added bonus is versatility..... I use MJ springs which gave the jeep a 3" stretch. I did not measure to see what lift it gave though.
