With all of the canceling of school, I'm sure that the schools will be holding school on saturday. Last year my daughter went to 2 saturday school days and both times played the Wii all day. Will you be sending your kids to school to play for a half a day?
 
I don't understand, what in teh world kind of school is this?

The rare times they insituted sat school when we were in Forsyth County, it was actual school. My wife was a teacher, she did real classwork.

I remember several years ago there was a series of ice storms and they got so far behind, that they maxed out against the last possible day for school to go (would have exceeededt he contract date for the teachers, lol).
So their solution was to extend every school day by like 20 minutes.
So the 4 classes my wife taught a day each gained 5 minutes. WTF more are you supposed to do with 5 more minutes that will make up for whole days?
 
Lincoln Co. schools, Rocksprings Elementry to be specific. It pissed me off the first Sat she went to school and they played the Wii. The second Sat they did the same thing. I drove 20 min both ways for a half day of school.
 
Yep, same thing as pumkin center elementry school. Last year they played all day on the saturdays they had to attend to make up.
 
Yeah Lincoln County Schools has the "cream of the crop" for teachers. My ex-wife is the counselor @ St. James Elementary. She will probably be teaching how to smoke pot, take shots of Wild Turkey and pop pills on Saturday school. She thinks D.A.R.E. stands for Drugs Are Really Expensive.
 
my wife teaches in Lincoln County and she had to work two Sat. last year. She said that most of the kids showed up. She would much rather spend time playing with the Wii in class, but Admin. is dropping in on her every other day and there's no way that's going to happen.

Looks like a new superintendant may do some changing up of things. Those missed days, Sat. or not, still count. You don't want the Po-Po stopping by wanting to know why your kids not in class!

I really dont see the point in saturday/half days either they dont show up or its just a free day. the teachers dont wanna teach so they pop in a move or something.



I always found snow days amusing. Every one was sooo happy about being out. They never could get it in their head that its coming out of our spring break. Imo i'd rather have my full spring break when its warm instead of playin in the snow for a day.
 
yea we had a sat. makeup one year i didn't even know we had it and i didn't go either its so pointless. i would rather have school year round anyways i would rather have a few weeks off at a time than have a big amount. cause as a kid you do anything you want to do after school anyways

most summers I was ready to go back after the first few weeks. and the snow days are over rated I played for a few hours this past sat and was done hope we have no more snow till next winter
 
I still live in the same place, but my daughter goes to Rock Springs in Denver.

And yes, Pumpkin Center is a real place.
