Off Road Recreation and Access to Public Lands Losing the High Ground

President Obama has specifcally invited us as Recreationists to be involved in his America's Great Outdoor Initiative.

He has aksed us to join the conversation by VOTING for IDEAS submitted by the public. This is really EASY to do and only takes a few minutes. His Team will present the results to the President on 11/15/10.

Right now most of the folks voting are the vocal minority who seek to lock the public off public lands, so your VOTES are badly needed.

The relevant to OHV topics have already been highlighted. All you have to do is get these votes back in the positive. It literally takes only a couple minutes to register and "Promote" all the OHV positive ideas.

done!

Takes 5 minutes. There is a couple to demote at the bottom, too.

done.

Clicked every link on the page and did some more promote/demote on the AGO site itself.

I'm appalled at some of the comments...

voted, but i dont quite understand this one...it was under the demote side, but I promoted it.

The nation's outdoor interests are growing increasingly competitive. On one side there are those who would like to protect and preserve things as if no human had ever set foot there. On the other, there are those who would like to travel some of the vast open spaces on an ATV. Somewhere in the middle is the correct solution.
I propose the federal government recognize that our public lands have many uses and interests. In an effort to reduce the "I win, you lose" mentality of modern politics, the government should not consider setting aside any new wilderness without setting aside and equal amount of dedicated OHV area within a reasonable proximity.
