Scepter / military water jug, what thread are they ?
[they = the green threaded portion of the cap]
Its NOT: 1/2" NPT, 3/4" NPT, 3/4 hose thread
Is it same ISO stranded thing ?
Maybe a NATO thing ?
Metric ?
What are the thread counts ?
.
-The brass is 1/2" NPT
-The bottom is 1/2 PEX and a crimp ring
-Which that will suffice for 98% of the time but i'd like to cover my bases the extra 2% :flipoff2:

well.... i solved that problem......
.
after searching, long ago i was 3/4" hose thread. ~30 year ago ?
Young generation kept fucking it up, so
3/4" garden hose, on a plastic container, ya it gets fur-bar a lot....
There switch to a ACME thread with a courser thread (than a garden hose +bit bigger)
problem solved, when you have a billion jugs floating around.
.
I want something a little bit standard like a 'garden hose' thread but brass not plastic, for 2 jugs.
.
Done
.
I can walk into any store, lowes, walmart, garden, farm etc. and get pieces for it.
3/4 garden thread, outside and 1/2 npt inside....
Not bad for 2 jugs....
Thanks Amazon !!!
.

beat me to it. I was going to say by the square(ish) profile, that looks like Acme screw thread to me.

I’m not sure I’m following you here. You’re saying 1/2” NPT female thread to 3/4” male garden hose thread? I absolutely refuse to pay the $28 for the scepter-made adapter so I’m trying to figure out what this thread size actually is. Thank you.

threads on the inside AND outside ght 3/4 outside with 1/2 thread (ntp) on the inside. Works well, for me

also, a regular npt 1/2" w 3/4" ght will kinda sorta thread into the OEM acme thing, I use this on a drain jug, on my fish table. it's sorta thread in.

see pic, note not threads on the inside
.
and before there ARE thread on the inside
