I've noticed alittle wiggle on my front tires. Looks like too much wiggle on the ball joint.

Learn from my mistake...don't get the cheapest line from NAPA, you'll be repeating the removal/install process soon. Second time around I went NAPA premium, or whatever its called.

Subscribed...gonna be doing this soon. I have a good feel for doing this, but my issue is re-install of the new ball joints. What's the best way to do this? I've heard some say rent-a-tool BJ press, but I've heard those also bend. I've also heard to bring them in to a shop and have the old pressed out and new pressed in. Any suggestions there?

Buy Moog brand from a professional store.

Also you should be able to do it from home with a rent a tool. Harbor freight sells them for $39.00

Typically the moog joints are greaseable and stock (dana) are not

lol... ANY play on a ball-joint is too much play.

When i did mine, i rented a Ball-joint remover from advance auto, worked just fine for me.

I just got some moogs from rockauto.com and rented the ball joint press from advance for $108 but you get that back when you return it

If I've never messed with IFS and dont have much know-how on it, would it be my best bet to let a "pro" change my balljoints for me? Or is it not too bad of a job?

well checked again, and it's not my ball joints, but the i guess ball joint on the track bar.

wow i wonder if we've been doing it wrong all these years i dont think we've ever rented a tool to do ball joints? i can say we've never had anyproblems either

So what do you use? A dead blow and piece of wood?

Freeze them!! then pretty much drop em in.

'pretty much'...so what else is needed besides the freezing?

I'll have to try the freezing method next time. I imagine a few taps would get them in all the way.

I've only borrowed the loan-a tool once, but done balljoints more than that. I've never had them pressed in by anyone else, I think I've just used the BFH and whatever spacers/pipe scraps I've had lying around.

the moog boots always cracked on me prematurely. went with carquest ones and must thinner rubber with retainers and never had a problem after that.

if your IFS...you want one of these. makes it a much easier job. otherwise...pound the crap out of the sprindle, not the ball joint, to remove it. the metal on the spindle will bend a little with each shot of the hammer and pop it straight out.
