I'm looking at replacing the unitized wheel bearing hubs and brake rotors on my XJ (1999 Classic, D30 front, part-time 4x4 CommandTrac, some sort of ABS I think).

NAPA shows 3 different p/n's for the wheel bearing hub, with quite a bit of price difference:

PGB PBR930014 ... $71.29 ...Hub Assy - Front Wheel w/ Composite ...Additional Contents:Hub Unit

BRG BR930014 ...$229.00 ...Hub Assy - Front Wheel w/ Composite ...Additional Contents:Hub Unit W/O ABS

BRG BR930219 ...$169.00 ...Hub Assy - Front Wheel w/ Cast Iron Brakes ...Additional Contents:Hub Unit W/O ABS

Then I go to look for rotors, and there different heights, and the composite vs full cast iron deal comes up again, 6 p/n's for my application.

So, what's the deal with composite/cast iron, which parts do I buy?

If your rotors are the cast type, they will be flat on the top like the top of a bucket. If they are the composite type, they will be rounded at the top.

You must match the hub type to the rotor type, otherwise they will bind on one another.

i have a couple sets of used unit bearings if you want them. 25.00 each. I know of 2 different types. one has less of a lip raised up in middle and slightly longer lugs. i've got several of each.
